What is the MUREX ?
It is a Phoenician Symbol, representing a “shellfish”
discovered by our ancestors the Phoenicians and was the source of the Purple
color “Ourjouan”. They used this color to tan the silk and other
tissues, and this was the key of their success and fame.
We choose the Murex as a symbol of success.
The trophy has been designed by the Lebanese sculptor Nabil Helou especially
for the event, representing a Phoenician personage raising in his hand the
Murex, with a “V” symbol of “Victory”
